The Elevator is full-color, on-going series, targeted towards the teen to mid-adult audience as well as readers with diverse tastes who enjoy stories that center upon character development, dramatic narrative and unique concepts. The Elevator, with its thrilling, dynamic fight scenes, strong drama and intense pursuit of a wanted criminal, is an action/adventure comic.
On her way home from work on a cold, rainy Friday, Samantha takes pity on a hitchhiker and picks him up. The hitchhiker, Jason, is a quite unusual man, protecting a canvas bag that – as Samantha finds out when her curiosity gets the better of her – contains a potted flower. She readily passes this off as an eccentricity on Jason's part until he gets mugged by similarly unusual people who steal only the flower, leaving Jason's more valuable belongings alone. Jason, desperate to get the flower back quickly, enlists Samantha's help and, through the use of a special medallion, takes her into a different world.
Once there, Jason explains to her about the Regulation, an organization that monitors, protects and "regulates" the multitude of known alternate universes and different worlds, whether these worlds are aware of the Regulation and want its help or not. The Regulation's agents, Regulators, are stationed within these worlds, ensuring peace while studying and documenting the people as well as fighting off any Disruptors (those who fight against the Regulation and "disrupts" the Regulation's work). Jason is a rising star within the Regulation and is soon entrusted with a mission to arrest Riley, the man who stole the flower; a highly dangerous and unpredictable Disruptor.
Samantha, like the reader, gets introduced to the Regulation as she is slowly exposed to the wide-ranging strength and far-reaching control of this organization. Working with Jason as his new partner, she travels with him to apprehend Riley and his team of Disruptors.
Jason's and Samantha's search for Riley takes them across numerous worlds under the guardianship of the Regulation, divulging the reader to the standards and essentials found in genres such as fantasy, sci-fi, detective noir, steampunk, Westerns, and gothic, all with "real world" elements. Each story arc presents a different problem within an entirely new world, providing readers with a variety of new situations while still following one, single plotline.
The cast of The Elevator is well-rounded with detailed backgrounds that drive and motivate them. Writing with a fresh voice, I provide the reader with intriguing plotlines and highly readable and engaging characters.
